Eligibility for University of Essex Africa Scholarship:
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- To calculate fees, you must be identified as an international student.
- be a citizen of an African country (designated as a member of the African Union) and live in an African country on a regular basis
- be completely self-sufficient in your studies
- be an African or one of the countries listed above graduate
- apply for a full-time Masters program beginning in 2020-21 (excluding MBA)
- achieve the following academic requirements:
Ghana: 3.0/4.0 or higher CGPA
CGPA of 3/5 or above in Nigeria
Other African Union member states: 2:1 or higher (or equivalent as defined by our Postgraduate Admissions selection criteria) - If you are an African national with a degree from a recognised UK university (other than Essex) with a 2:1 or higher, or from a recognised university with a 2:1 or higher (or equivalent as defined by our Postgraduate Admissions selection criteria), or from any of the following countries, you will be considered for this award: Bangladesh, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United States of America, and Vietnam

Applicants who have firmly accepted an offer of a place by 16 September 2022 (for October 2022 start) or 06 January 2023 (for January 2023 start) and met the academic conditions of entry, will be considered for these scholarships
