Emory University offers partial to full merit-based scholarships as part of the Emory University Scholar Programs. Scholar programs are more than just merit scholarships. They empower students through resources and support to reach their full potential and make an impact on the university, Atlanta, and the world beyond.

How to Apply:

  1. To be considered for any and all scholar programs, you must select one of the three admission decision plans (Early Decision IEarly Decision II, or Regular Decision) and submit all required application materials by November 15. (Those applying Early Decision I must apply by November 1.)
  2. You also must answer “yes” to the question on your application that says, “Do you wish to be considered for merit scholarships?”

SELECTION PROCESS FOR International Scholarships at Emory University

The Office of Admission, in collaboration with outstanding professors, manages the selection for merit-based scholar programs.

Each year, anywhere between 8,000 and 10,000 students apply to be Scholars. 175-200 students are chosen as Scholar Finalists from among those. Finalists must attend a Scholars Finalists Visit hosted on campus in the spring. Finalists are invited to campus without charging the student.

The visit, which spans several days, includes activities and interviews made to familiarize finalists with Emory University and the unique opportunities accessible to them there.

Those who are not chosen as program finalists are nevertheless thoroughly examined for admission in accordance with the application strategy they have chosen, and they are also automatically considered for additional minor merit-based awards.
