Eligibility To APPLY FOR SOUTH AFRICAN-GERMAN CENTRE FOR DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP 2021 for Master and PhD programmes
- You must be a citizen of sub-Sahara African country
- Your previous study must be in a field related to Development Studies or Public Administration in an internationally recognised university
- You must possess excellent academic records
- You must consent to studying full-time in UWC
- Your last university degree must not be older than 6 years
- You must have a four-year undergraduate degree or its equivalent

- Curriculum vitae. Please use this format
- School leaving certificate
- University certificate
- Transcripts of all your results, showing the subjects of their respective grades in English. (For transcripts that are in language other than English or Afrikaans, you must submit them with their respective English translation, bearing the signatory of the Public Notary.)
- University matriculation certificate
- Certificate of proficiency in English language (either TOEFL or IETLS) or any such official attestation
- Evidence of current or previous employment or volunteering in your field
- Passport style photograph
- National ID card or passport
- Two recommendation letters: one academic and the other professional. (Should your referee prefer, they can send the recommendation letters to uwc@cdr-sa.org.)
- Essay on any of the following:
- Write critical note son how in equality can be measured. What do you regard ast he causes of inequality in your country?
- What are the prospects for a successful Developmental State model in any African country of your choice?
- What do you see as the root causes of migration? How can these be addressed?
For greater credibility, you should have your documents authenticated by the Commissioner of Oaths.
